Blessed are the lotus feet of the revered Guru; I cleanse my mind’s mirror with the dust of those feet.
I narrate the unblemished glory of Lord Rama, which bestows the four fruits of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha).

बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके सुमिरौं पवनकुमार।
बल बुद्धि बिद्या देहु मोहि हरहु कलेश बिकार॥

Considering myself devoid of intelligence and knowledge, I meditate on Hanuman, the Son of the Wind.
Grant me strength, intelligence, and wisdom, and remove my afflictions and impurities.

महावीर विक्रम बजरंगी।
कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी॥

Mighty hero, valiant and powerful, with limbs as strong as a diamond.
You dispel evil thoughts and associate with the wise.

कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा।
कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा॥

You have a radiant golden complexion and a magnificent appearance.
Adorned with beautiful earrings and curly hair.

हाथ वज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै।
कांधे मूँज जनेउ साजै॥

In your hands, you hold the thunderbolt and flag.
You wear the sacred thread across your shoulder, along with a sacred thread of Munja grass.

संकर सुवन केसरीनंदन।
तेज प्रताप महा जग वंदन॥

You are the son of Shankara (Shiva) and Kesari (the lion-like king of monkeys).
Your radiance and magnificence are revered by the whole world.

विद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर।
राम काज करिबे को आतुर॥

You are wise, virtuous, and exceedingly clever.
Eager to carry out Lord Rama’s tasks.

प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया।
रामलखन सीता मन बसिया॥

You relish listening to the stories of the Lord’s exploits.
You have Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita dwelling in your heart.

सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा।
बिकट रूप धरि लँक जरावा॥

You appeared before Sita in a subtle form and presented yourself as a messenger.
You assumed a terrifying form and set Lanka ablaze.

भीम रूप धरि असुर सँहारे।
रामचन्द्र के काज सँवारे॥

You took on a colossal form and annihilated the demons.
You diligently fulfilled Lord Rama’s tasks.

लाय सँजीवनि लखन जियाये।
श्रीरघुवीर हरषि उर लाये॥

You brought the Sanjeevani herb to revive Lakshmana.
The brave warriors of Lord Rama were overjoyed.

रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बडाई।
तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई॥

You received abundant praise from Lord Rama.
You are as dear to me as Lord Bharata, His own brother.

सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं।
अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं॥

A thousand mouths are insufficient to sing your glories.

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा।
नारद सारद सहित अहीसा॥

Sanaka, Brahma, and other revered sages,
Narada, Saraswati, and the serpent deities,

जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते।
कवि कोविद कहि सके कहाँ ते॥

Yama (the god of death), Kubera (the god of wealth), and the guardians of the directions,
Even the wise poets and scholars cannot fully describe your glory.

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं की

न्हा।
राम मिलाय राजपद दीन्हा॥

You rendered a great service to Sugriva,
By reuniting him with Lord Rama and bestowing upon him the kingdom.

तुम्हरो मंत्र बिभीषन माना।
लंकेश्वर भए सब जग जाना॥

युग सहस्त्र योजन पर भानु।
लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू॥

You perceived the sun as a sweet, small fruit.

You guided him by bringing a message from Sita, along with a token from her.

सुग्रीवहिं कृपा बचन सुनाये।
सीता होंकि परम सुख दिखाये॥

You conveyed Sugriva’s plea to Lord Rama,
And through your words, Sita’s well-being and comfort were ensured.
